I was born and raised in a peaceful little village in the mountain region of southern Poland. My childhood experience taught me much about life's simple beauty and joyfulness. And it introduced me to the supportive power, compassion and wisdom of small communities. That amazing spirit, so easily lost in our hectic changing world, remains my guide to helping others.
After completing a diploma in social work, I became a senior social worker at a pioneering Shelter for Single Mothers in Bielsko-Biała. During my time there I worked with single mothers and women in abusive relationships. I was able to put therapeutic theories into practice by leading drama and clowning workshops and encouraging my clients to build confidence through public performance. This marked a turning point in my life. Because of it, I discovered how creative play and expressive freedom could improve the outlook and attitudes of people in crisis.
I left Poland in 2002, deciding to broaden my education and experience in London. While working within the British social care system - most recently as a member of the London Borough of Bexley's Adult Learning Disability Team - I attended many training and workshop sessions. My studies have introduced me to everything from Process Work Psychology and Neuro-linguistic Programming to Sesame Institute Drama and Movement Therapy. I obtained a Master's degree in Psychodynamic and Systemic Thinking and Psychology of the Group at the Tavistock Institute in 2011 and qualified two years later as a Holistic Voice Therapist under the aegis of the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST).
As a workshop leader I have worked with, among others, the Blackbird Leys Community Choir in Oxford, developing and animating workshops to unlock the group's expressive potential, and with disabled people and the socially disadvantaged in Bytom, a town in southern Poland touched by profound social problems and high unemployment.
Over the past decade, I have acquired many skills to add to those I brought with me to London. My professional ethos and inclusive approach as image consultant, holistic voice therapist and life coach are built on my early experience of responding positively to life's challenges. I understand how changes to an individual's appearance - the way she or he dresses, moves and connects with others - can transform the inner person. And I believe in exploring your thoughts and needs in depth before deciding on how best I can help you 'Say Yes' to the full richness of your own life.
