Beyond Barriers
Our ancestors developed instincts that helped them avoid danger and escape from wild beasts or rival tribes. The demands of how we live today, while different from those of prehistory, can feel threatening and lead us to develop patterns of thinking, language, feelings and behaviour. These may provide a sense of security. But they also limit our experience of the expansive and spacious qualities of being fully alive.
As we gently explore our self-limiting beliefs and become conscious of them, we discover that they are no more than illusions built on negative foundations. I can work with you to bring your habitual patterns of thinking, speaking and being into the light of awareness, and help you to accept and cherish them before letting them go.
When we ‘Say Yes’ to change, we are already open and ready to move beyond our boundaries. The process of positive transformation flows naturally from your decision to ‘Say Yes’ to whatever is in your experience, to liberate yourself from avoidance and evasion.
By examining each of your self-limiting beliefs in turn, we will test their truth, discover how they make you feel and whether you think they are helpful or unhelpful.
Remember – thoughts are not facts! They are mental events, temporary conditions that arise and fall away. By turning our thoughts around and changing how we relate to them, we experience a new sense of freedom. Together we will explore negative reactions to stressful situations and cultivate positive ways to respond to them in future, in words, feelings, thoughts and deeds.
...What we focus on, we become...
YES!

Something terrible is bound to happen to me...
YOU ARE OK
I AM OK
IT IS STILL OK
I can’t do that
-
People don’t like me
-
Life’s so unfair
-
-
I’m a failure
-
Nobody listens to me
She shouldn’t do that

I’m too fat
I’m too thin
I'm worthless
I HAVE GOOD THOUGHTS
I know what he needs
I shouldn’t ask for a pay rise in case my boss thinks I’m too pushy
I need to be in control
I don’t belong here
This is impossible

I’m worthless
